How do you open the old minecraft clients?

i've been trying to play some old versions wiki the clients on the wiki (mainly this page Java Edition Classic 0.30 – Official Minecraft Wiki (fandom.com))
and i've been executing them with java. do you know how to play them?

You have to create a new folder in .minecraft/versions with the exact same name as downloaded .jar and .json files and then put these in it.

You should have an option to choose the version in launcher

many old versions of minecraft are not included in the launcher. like the survival tests.
