How is Lapis Lazuli Pronounced?

Caporal Dxl I was talking to my friend and I said "blah blah blah... Lapis Lazuli ...blah blah blah..." and she's like "what" and I'm like "what" and she's like "you said that wrong" and I'm like "no I didn't" and she's like "it's pronounced laz-oo-LIE" and "I'm like puhLEASE it's pronounced laz-OO-lee!"

I like to pronounce it the way you write it, but making the "a" an "ea" in "lapis", and with a low volume "s", and then "lazuli" with "a" being "ea" again and a long "u".
Hopefully this is understandable up there ^

I'm sorry, but I have to go with your friend. Since when you say Lap-is Laz-oo-LEE it sounds wrong. When you say Lap-is Laz-oo-LIE it sounds better to me. If its Laz-oo-LEE for Americans, then they're both correct. Since I'm sure Laz-oo-LIE is for British English. So I'm sure they're both correct according to where you come from

my mother (or father i cant remember lol) say 'la-zool' instead of 'la-zoo-lee'
and i think it should be 'la-zoo-lee' not 'laz-oo-lee' because it makes MUCH more sense.
