How should I resist the urge to cheat?
In a few adventure maps I sometimes get really far and then I get cocky... and I will do something stupid and fall into the lava or something like that. I end up opening too many items and beating the game that way. However when I do that... I feel like I have not accomplished very much... because TMI did it not me .
Advice?

Same with me! I'm not sure my advice will help you, at all, but I'll tell you what I do, anyway.
If you fall in lava, or die, and lose something really important, then I would use too many items to get it, unless it's not that important. Or I would make a new world, and cheat loads, and an other one where I do it without cheats. I hope this helped, but it probably didn't

I KNO but i have a tower defence and it is finished and i want a download link but i cant pput a folder in it has to be a .zip
Many archivers can archive folders or selections with right clicks (usually .zip is default), but you can also open it up with the program if you want (more steps, but possible).

Use Adventurecraft maps only. They give you restarts and checkpoints

hmm.. I would suggest delete TMI
Make several .jar files and switch them out to vanilla when you go on adventure maps.
