^ you get 0 for a submission as such, but submission gives you 1 auto-diamond, and that gives you 5.

To get experience you need to post projects, blogs, skins, texture packs, mods and servers. Banners WILL NOT give you experience (confirmed by mods and developers). This is how the experience system works:
One View = 1 exp
One Comment = 1 exp
One Upvote = 2 exp
One Download = 2 exp
One Favorite = 2 exp
One Submission = 5 exp
One View = 1 exp
One Comment = 1 exp
One Upvote = 2 exp
One Download = 2 exp
One Favorite = 2 exp
One Submission = 5 exp

Gah, those numbers are not right at all! Why do people keep posting this mistaken info again and again?
It's really:
One View = 1 exp
One Comment = 1 exp
One Diamond = 5 exp
One Download = 1 exp
One Favorite = 1 exp
One Submission = 0 exp
It's really:
One View = 1 exp
One Comment = 1 exp
One Diamond = 5 exp
One Download = 1 exp
One Favorite = 1 exp
One Submission = 0 exp

A submission in total gets you 5 exp from 1 Diamond, and 1 view. So, your information is wrong too, because based on that, 1 diamond is 4 exp and not 5.
1
Every submission gets an automatic diamond, but it does not get an automatic view, other than the views that just happen naturally because of you know, people viewing.

It does get an automatic view. The next time you post something it will have 1 view and 1 diamond.

Since this is something I wanted to be sure about, I went and actually calculated how much everything is worth by using awesome power of science. Turned out I was initially wrong about one value. (Shady and others were also wrong.)
This is how you do it: let's say submission gives you x_s exp, view gives you x_v exp, etc. Now, if you know how much of everything some person has and you also know how much exp they have, this gives you a single liner equation with 6 unknown variables which looks something like this:
x_subm*a_subm + x_views*a_views + x_diam*a_diam + x_comm*a_comm + x_favs*a_favs + x_dwnlds*a_dwnlds = exp_total.
Now you collect data. You go to profiles of some poor, unsuspecting people and record how much of everything they have. Now you got yourself a system of linear equations. This is the data I collected:
2 142 6 8 0 17 197
1 299 4 4 0 0 323
3 189 10 17 1 28 286
7 839 20 7 0 75 1021
3 148 4 2 1 39 211
1 65 2 3 1 0 80
6 786 8 8 5 129 973
2 3971 74 70 23 336 4793
15 11859 144 182 21 106 12909
You process these numbers - you plug them into an on-line linear regression solver. The solver spits out the values that you wanted to know. Try it.
This is what is says:
Submission gives 0.
View gives 1.
Diamond gives 5.
Comment gives 1.
Fav gives 2.
Download gives 1.
(I was wrong in thinking that a fav gives 1 instead of 2, shady was wrong in thinking that a comment gives 2 and a submission 5, instead of 1 and 0.)

0 exp for one submission? I could have sworn I got some on my posts.
1
You do get exp from submissions. That's why people post spam skins
1
I would also like to have a more exact statement of how the xp system works.. It seems you get most by views and replies on your projects..

I am doing banners but i am not geting xp from that
1
It won't hardly level you up if you get almost no views. And some banners are not getting many views anyway.
1
The most obvious way to get xp is by uploading either projects, skins, mods, blogs, banners, texture packs or servers. Uploading some form of content levels you up and if people check out your content, you start to level up. Try to not upload things with no effort put in them or that has been made a gazillion times already. Try the best you can but don't worry too much on the xp, uploading what you love is always best.
