Hello guys. I did not see a thread about the 1.6 update like this yet, so I thought: Let's make my own!
1.6 is coming soon, announced by Mojang, and I heard bits of news from people who played the snapshots: horses, (maybe) Minecraft Realms, donkeys, some new textures, etc.
So discuss the new minecraft 1.6 update here .
Things you can discuss here:
-What new things there are in 1.6
-What you are most excited by, about 1.6
-etc. (as long as it's about 1.6)

I have not played it yet, but I saw a notice saying: Manual install of 1.6 is already out! Gonna check it! ^O^

I Have Played 1.6 Myself And I Think One Of The Best Things Are Horses I Like That You Can Tie Them To A Fence With A Lead !

I don't know about you, but this stuff equals major lag for me and most of my friends. Want this stuff and more? One word. Tekkit. It's not that I'm saying this stuff isn't cool, but I always liked Vanilla

Just had to get my opinion out there in the world.
No worries, I don't think it will cause more lag like any other update. If you keep having trouble, check your video settings. Reducing render distance from far --> normal helps a lot. Putting your Graphics at maximum could help, such as Fps (but these cost a lot of power). If you have lag placing blocks (especially semi-lighttransparant (like stairs and slabs)), you could turn off or minimalize smooth lighting (but minecraft looks a bitty crappy then).
Maybe this will help.

Username changing? Is that a thing?

I think that will make it harder to ban players. You can only use ban-ip then, since if you got banned you just change your username. But I don't know if that's something

Not necessarily, you could change the name that shows up ingame but not change your account name, as long as you banned the account name no amount of name changing would allow them back on. Unless they have multiple account, then you just IP ban them

I think horses are cool, and I love the horse armor. now roleplay will be much more fun ^o^

MrJohnson5Horses is something that the community has been asking for a millennium, and the fact that mojang is working with the creator of mo creatures, will make horses better than we could ever imagine. Can not wait. But it will be a struggle to update all of my mods when the time comes!
