I like modded servers very much, although they are extremely laggy, doesn't even care what mod it has... Thats why I never play on them.

yes, people do like them, but it depends mostly on the Mods
AND addons for the mods AND the gamemodes on your server (factions or towny, minigames, survival games etc.)

at beginning it can take a bit to get players, but it depends too
where you post your Server, for example most Flan's Mod
Users check the Flans Mod website, it has it's own Serverlist

(I have posted my server on PMC & FlansMod website, but the most players come from flans mod website)

another point is... how hard is it to install the needed Mods?
if you have more than 1-5 mods, it's better to make a
Modpack downloadable from TechinkLauncher or FTB or whatever
and post a link to download the Modpack.zip/rar/jar because there are
still persons who like manuall installation (like me)

There is currently 135,774 servers on PMC.

Just because 0.00073651803733% (1 server) of PMC's server listings doesn't have any players, doesn't mean that the whole minecraft community (over 16 MILLION people) don't like modded servers.

lots of people like moded servers just moded servers are hard to set up I have seen a ftb monster server with 400 players

Well lots of people do find modded servers fun but, some cannot download mods. it is also hard to find all the exact mods to get in the server which is the main problem these days...

if only it was easier to join modded servers

its hard to get a playerbase when your server isnt 24/7 too

Really depends on what mods.

Sounds like it could be a fun server, wont deny that at all. Just give it time, of course, it always takes times to find the right players in the beginning.

Tekkit was amazing back when it was the current version, but really not anymore. The game is all about the updates.. Keep up to date or the user base will fall apart.

I can tell you now, there is a lot of people who do like mods, but it is hard to start up a server and expect a bunch of people to show up. I have been running servers and helping set up servers for a few friends and random people for 21 months now. It will take some time, but you will find some people.
