Aw man I checked it out. Its a called a guardian and its as creepy as silverfish, it has the 1 eyed trait of a cyclops and its super OP. Mostly found in underwater temples.

You can spawn in the Elder Guardian with /summon Guardian ~ ~ ~ {Elder:1}

The Guardian and The Elder The Guardian can be spawned in ocean dungeons or with a spawn egg. There is only one Elder in the ocean dungeons and is not yet a spawn egg (not shore if it will ever be) This was released in the latest Minecraft snapshot including new drops for it and new blocks to make. I'm defiantly exited for 1.8! Even if there are a few bugs in the latest snapshot...

News From Snapshots.

It's official. The mob is called Guardian and shoots beams/rays at squids and you. Deals 2 hearts of damage or more depending on difficulty. Requires full diamond armor in Hard. Requires you to have respiration helmet and a potion of water breathing as these mobs stay in water (unless you fish them onto land. It works) so losing bubbles will suck when fighting these.

Biggest underwater mob yet. Counts as miniboss, not a main boss. Has purplish silver spikes coming out of torso/head. Shoots ray that deals 2 1/2 hearts on easy, 4 hearts on normal and 6 hearts on hard.

Wet Sponge [Player kills]

Just saw rewiew for new snapshot it's a Guardian they are found in the new Sea Temple along with Elder Guardian the ranged attack is a laser

It is a blueish thing with one eye, (I can swear i saw the eye move up) and it can shoot you to give you mining fatigue, It only spawns in a Atlantis-type place.... Called a dungeon but I think its more of a Giant temple-like thing.... Sadly didn't get any screen shots.... but there is a giant one of the Cyclops/fish thingys in grey in the middle of the 'dungeon'.... Sorry if someone else posted this.... to lazy to go tru em all

Guardian It's in the new snapshot (14w25a) with a few new blocks.

New dungeons spawn underwater with loot inside. That's where the Guardians spawn.
There are also 4 new blocks, one including wet sponge. You can now soak up water with sponge and the sponge turns into wet sponge.

You can find sponge in the dungeons under water.

The latest snapshot is out now! The new underwater hostile mob is a guardian. There are guardians and elder guardians. Also, there are underwater temples with great loot. The guardians spawn around them. The look like giant puffer fish, and for the ranged attack they shoot out bubbles (i think) and draw you in closer to them. They deal a lot of damage, and kill any squids near the temple.
