Is there a way to detect if an area has no mobs left in it (ie killed by player)?

I know you probably don't want to tile your whole floor with pressure plates... but doing that and connecting them all to a single line would indicate if there were any left.

..And the lag associated with that..

lol

EDIT:
Oh yeah, and the player will set it off too.

I could possibly help you out, I'm pretty good with redstone. I didn't know about the command "/testfor", but I believe I could get you to where you want to be.

You might be able to do /testfor (IDs of mobs) on a command block... but I'm not that good at redstone but that's my best guess...
