Wouldn't it be cool if there was some kind of mod where all the trees were made of diamonds? And you would have to dig for logs inside the ground? Like you'd get a couple wood logs at the beginning and have to use a wooden pickaxe to find a block of wood in the ground near the surface. And instead of diamonds, the rarest minerals would be iron and gold 'cause you need them to mine all the diamond.

But then as soon as the player found one wood log, they could make a wooden pick and mine the stone, make a stone pick and mine the iron, make an iron pick and mine the diamond. Done. It wouldn't be hard to find the right type of tree on the surface, unless you made iron trees super rare.

how about just stone, iron, gold, and diamond trees (stone/iron blocks for logs and cobblestone/iron ore for leaves) with proportional rarity and wooden planks of different types underground with log and leaf ore veins?
