Terraforming a new spawn by hand
with terraforming my new spawn I want it to look perfict and origional not like a download. One problem is terraforming the mountains around the outside. I could do it in 10 minutes with world edit but instead choose to build each block by hand. Am I wasting my time will anyone notice anyway? what would you do?

Another option is WorldPainter. You can import an existing map file, make swift changes and, depending on your brushes and skill, can make very unique terrain in minutes. Just throwing another idea out there, and there's nothing wrong with saving time in MCEdit or using World Edit. Your time is valuable.

That is an awesome idea, thanks

wasting your time. Use worldedit and edit it by hand to get it look really good. Or, ofcourse, you can just use worldedit and maybe making it even better by using worldmachine or terragen-3.

VoxelSniper could be useful too, very useful for this kind of stuff

I've done this before, it takes time but if you know what you're doing it really pays off. Reference my hand built terrain project, for example. A shortcut you could use is the cylinder tool, to make grass and terrain that looks smoother and more realistic than if you were using the smooth brush.http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/blaizecraft-park-a-blaizecraft-build-hand-built-terrain-download/

Awesome! that is proof that if you spend the extra time it pays off

If you take your time and do it properly nobody can tell the difference. It's when people start to rush the project and get sloppy that it falls apart.
World Edit will save you an incredible amount of time.

You're wasting your time. I did this with my server and i made the mountains look unique and real. With World edit. It really just depends if you know what your doing

can the players tell the difference between world edit and hand build? sounds correct
