What to do when you just can't...

What do you do when you can not build for a portion of time, I am not talking about when you run out of ideas, I am talking about when you have literally so many ideas that everything you try to build just turns out to be terrible or simply not up to par.
So what is it you do in times like that?
I simply keep trying to build and drive myself up a wall and go mad.

It helps me to go into survival for a bit. I notice my town is missing a bakery or a brewery and then I go into creative and build a couple new buildings.

This is me, constantly. But, what I tend to do, is completely take a break from building, and go do something different and/or new. I'll add a few new mods, and figure them out, go nomad for a few days on a hardcore world, play minigames, basically jut reset my entire minecraft mentality. And by doing that I get a new perspective on the game.
