Winrar?
So I was installing some mods on my game and I had forgotten to reinstall winrar as I had just recently deleted it.So when I installed it and put my mods in I thought it was ready to go! Then an Error occured but I shrugged it off, deleted my bin and went to try again but what had happened? All of my files that used to be jar files were now compressed... What the heck do I do now.

Yeah, what Zaphod said. If you right click and go "open with..." and then navigate to where you installed Java, and click the "Java" program (in the bin file of the Java folder) it'll set it to default open with that, instead of with an archive....
It won't do much for Minecraft because that opens it differently, but if you use any other .jar files you might find that double clicking them opens winrar instead of running them in Java.

A jar file is an archive. You probably just have jar files set to open with WinRAR, so they appear as an archive icon.
