I think People will use it to their advantage to remove (ANY) Reputation they have to other players

There shouldnt be a name change because what if you have donor ranks? The names would all screw up. Also what if someone took your name! Then it will be a crisis, at least for me!

I guess you won't be seeing too many crap usernames anymore unless people actually like them..

I agree with name changes. I don't like my MC username at all. I want it to be changed, but without spending any $.

If people want to change their name I say let them. Personally I wont be changing mine but if someone want to spend money to get a new sign above their head then I say let them. (I am assuming that this will cost money)

They are amazing.

You can not have the same username as anyone else, which is nice, and there is a cooldown time before you can change your name again, so you cant change it every ten minutes.

UUID is also nice, it keeps players who were banned to remain banned.

You can get nickname plugins which relies on the UUID, plus it wouldn't be hard to make a plugin that checks the UUID and allows server staff/players know what their names were in the past/ This would remove confusion.

For servers thinking about having players forced to have their old names is just going to bring down your reputation and scare away new players.

While bans are carried over, reputation isn't. So if a server owner gets suspicious of someone they can change their name and that server owner will think they are a new player.

I think they're great. Since we have UUIDs, bans for servers are already sorted out as far as not being able to change your name to avoid a ban. I'm looking forward to potentially getting rid of all the "x"s in my IGN.

Be proud of your name everyones name is special and unique it is the name you are known personally i think name changes are a horrible idea if any one else has a different opinion i would love to hear it

I think it's an awesome thing.
The only bad thing is that there will be a bunch more YouTuber copycats and stuff.
Besides that, it's great. People like me with horrid usernames get a chance to have an awesome name <333

Personally, I think it would be cool. However, Mojang need to make sure that it doesn't interfere with ranks on servers, and that they would still be banned even if the name was changed.

Well it will be a good chance for those people with usernames like "dickbut27" or poo1234567 (Sadly, these are real usernames I've seen)
Also I can change my alt names to anime references e.t.c xD

I believe it willbe somewhat confusing with who is who if people change their names all the time.

oolliiee123As some of you might know, changing your name in minecraft will be allowed after February 4th. There are a lot of mixed opinions on this. Banned players will still stay banned if the plugin has UUID support.
My opinion on this: I honestly think this is quite stupid. Players basically could change their identity and pretend to be someone else. What do you think?

The solution to the false identity problem is to make more use of the Minecraft.net Profile page and add a friends list with a feature showing precious names for each player.

I like the name changes.
My reason is because my name is horrible and I want to change my name to something greater.
I just want one chance to change my name and that's all.

First of all you change your name and no-one ever recognises you anymore.
Second of all people will try to be Youtubers or creators and maybe get OPed and get players banned.

Anyway, I think it's great. Besides, you can only pick a name no one else has, and when you can only change your name every 30 days.

finally. I can get rid of my awful username.
and I'm sure they'll make it that you can only have names that were never taken. E.g., if some overrated famous YouTuber changed their name, nobody could go and steal their original name. idk. it'd be pretty stupid if they didn't make it like that or something similar.

I agree with Golden_Paw, but I still think changing names in general is stupid, In minecraft I have many friends who don't have Skype, and if they change their name then I will never be abel of isn them again

Nope, I think its a good thing. What is you messd up something in your name till day one you bought minecraft and wanted it to change? Anyways no matter what banned users will stay banned even if they change the name so I dont see the problem. Oh and about pretending part? How so? I mean they cant change their username to lets say "Xphos" if its already taken? No? It would be stupid to see milion players named lets say "Notch" on each server, dont you think?
