I have been trying to summon mobs for my adventure map: Darkness, but nothing happens, and when i try to do it myself without command blocks it says i cant spawn mobs out of this world.

Before entering your command in a command block try this:
open tekst chat, and type : /summon [space]
then hit Tab, Tab lets you scroll through all of the possible options.
if you have the wanted Mob hit [space] and type : ~ ~ ~
Hit enter and the wanted mob should spawn at your feat.
if it does (kill it and) open tekst chat again and hit the [up-arrow.]
hit [home] hold shift hit [end] and press [ctrl]+[c], press [esc].
now select the commandblock and press [ctrl]+[v]

I get that sometimes just make sure your using the right cordinates!
