How to update a minecraft map?

I was recently making a puzzle map but with all the people wanting it to be released earlier than what it's supposed deadline. I was wondering if there was a way to make update a minecraft map after the same world is already uploaded.

On PMC, sure. Just upload it again and use the Update Log tab to say what's new.
For the worlds people played, they'll just have to make new ones.
