jflory7Creeper_4869I use Eclipse mainly for developing plugins for MC
Do you code Bukkit plugins?
I'm back, and yes, but I'm fairly new to it, so you won't get the best hiring me, but if it's a new server, I guess I'm the place to start?

Notepad++ is free anyway so why get the demo? Also, Modding tutorials

Oh, I see, a bit like Eclipse, but can support other scripting languages, Eclipse can only support Java and Javascript, though with ad-ons, can support many more.

If you know Javascript you should check out Unity3d. It's great for game development

I am new to coding, I'm learning C++ (probably shouldn't cause I dunno C) I know JavaScript, LUA and FORTH, I taught myself Forth Lua and JavaScript!
I suggest making a copy of the .minecraft folder and mod from that, remember to rename them so it dosn't interfere with your actual minecraft! Another suggestion is to use Eclipse! It can code Java and Javascript, but with ad-ons can support many other scripting languages!

No, Java isn't the same as Lua, Javascript (well) and Forth. Those are scripting languages, Java is a programming language. Java files have to be compiled and (optionally) obfusicated, so in order to make any sense from them you need to deobfusicate, which is where MCP comes in
1
You probably know how to write a program and compile, but not obfusicate as it's not always used. I recommend ignoring the above comment and downloading the Minecraft's Coder Pack, which will de-obfusicate the files and make them much easier to read.

Uhmmmm do you really know java and how to mod?If you did you should know that you have to deobfuscate the classes first *FACEDESK* also NEVER EVER EVER edit minecraft files
