More villager noises? help

so im still working on my pack and realized...
what if the villagers spoke actual sentences?
i added a few sound files but... only having 5 sentences to choose from is way too little
is there a way for maybe MCpatcher or similar to use more voices from other folders like it does on textures?
then it would sound like they would have actual conversations!
also it would have to work on servers too

can't you just add more files?

well i tried it in the normal way, to just add "idle4" and 5 6 7 8 files, but its still only picking 1,2,3 in the game
im wondering if mcpatcher might have that available somehow
something like minecraft/mcpatcher/sounds/mob/villager
but somehow i doubt that too.... since mcpatcher mainly just a texturing and graphic fix

I've seen a combination of the two. I've seen a guard say the same phrases, but have a different text box. Granted, it got annoying after a while, but at least they didn't seem like a silent NPC.

ehh, i have so many audio files waiting to be used, thats the problem
and its not my server, so it has to be a client side mod or texture pack fix

Customnpcs might be easier, they wouldn't actually say the words audio wise but will let you make custom texts for custom villagers to "say" and will pop up in your chat and above the villager
