ThaumCraft (Tutorial) Part 1
ThaumCraft
ThaumCraft is a Minecraft mod that adds magical items and spells.
This episode we will go over some basic Crafting Recipes and the easiest spells to start you off.
Vis and Flux
Vis is the good magical energy in the atmosphere, Flux is the exact opposite.
Though Flux is bad you generate it when using magic. But what you can do to help avoid Flux from spawning any hostile mobs such as the Wisp, you can build you base near a Silver Wood Tree witch produces Vis. Vis overpowers Flux so that means more Vis equals less Flux.
Wand of the Apprentice
This is your main tool to get started.
But to craft it you need to find one of the many new ores. the ores will drop a magical shard there are many shards (Air, Water, Fire, Dull, Earth, and Vis) Find at least one because you need any kind of shard to craft the Wand.
To craft it Put a Gold Nugget in the Bottom left. Put a stick in the Center. and a Shard in the Top right.
The wand will start charging with Vis wait until its fully charged before using.
The Thaumonicon
This is basically your crafting guide so don't ask me how to craft these things.
To create this you'll need your wand and a Book Case.
Place the Book Case and right click it with your Wand! It should become the Thaumonicon.
Arcane Worktable And the Crucible
The Arcane Worktable is what you need to craft magic items like Magical Fabric.
To Create it place a Table(Recipe in Thaumonicon) And use your Wand on it.
The Crucible is where throw items in to create magical items but only if you have Discovered the item. to create it place a cauldron over a heat source, then use your Wand.
Now lets say you want to make Nitor, you would fill the Crucible with water and wait for it to bubble then you would throw in items with the Aspects Ignis, Lux, and
Potenia.
Research Table
For this you have to craft two things:
Two Tables (Wood Slabs across the top, and wood planks on the middle left and right)
And the Scribing Tools (A bottle, Feather, and Ink sack all in a row)
Once you have these place the two tables side by side and use the Tools on one.
To use the Research Table open it and put paper in the Bottom center slot, and put any items on the far right slots.The slots next to those will show what aspects the item contains. To Research the item click the magnifying glass.
Doing so will change depending on the tables setting, There are only two settings
Cursory and Thorough. Cursory will save the item but have less of a chance in finding a research note, witch leads to a magical discovery. Thorough is the opposite. Research Notes will appear after you Research an item enough it will also show you what Aspects you need to do Research on. For instance if you Research Coal you may find the element Ignis in it. If you continue research on items with Ignis you will discover another Aspect. Eventually you'll make a Discovery select it, read it, then right click. Open your Thaumonicon to see that what you researched and how to make it.
