The Empathy server (IP: 162.220.63.5:25745) is a unique place.
See? It's not only unique, it's spectacular, and it's spectacular not only because of it's players, but because of a certain kind of players. The very special kind, who help out the server, and make it better for everyone else.
On Empathy these players are called Project Facilitators. They run Sanctioned Projects, and make sure progress is made not only on individual builds and private bases, but on projects for the server as a whole.
Empathy has ten projects. They are:
1. BELCHES: Better Empathy Land Claims and Historical Evaluation of Structures
2. EPIC: Empathy Plugins and IT Concerns
3. BEAM: Better Empathy Art and Marketing
4. BEST: Better Empathy Shops and TRADES
5. BEWTI: Better Empathy Wilderness and Terraforming Interworldly
6. CUTE: Custom and Uniquely Tailored Enchants
7. BEAR: Better Empathy Activities and Rewards
8. BEAF: Better Empathy Accounting and Finance
9. EQAL: Empathy Quests Adventures and Lore
10. EMA: Empathy Minecraft Academy
We also consider the individual who uses the Minigames plugin to automate minigames a Project Facilitator, and we also have a YouTube rank.
Project Facilitators get perks and get to help out in special ways. For example, PF's get their own offices with their own NPC.
We have some pretty cool offices; some that PF's make themselves, and some they adopt.

PF's do a lot of great things for the Empathy server. For example, they go into danger to figure out why things aren't working and to fix problems, so regular players don't have to.
They design quest areas and write quests.
They design and test minigames.
They mind the economy.
And they promote education.

But these tasks are not what make Empathy PF's most special. What makes them most special are their values and their strengths. Empathy PF's are friendly, kind, and patient. They do not abuse their powers, they do not show favoritism, and they do not do things in secret. They show transparency in their work by publishing and updating project descriptions, submitting monthly reports, posting changes on the forum, and answering questions in a pleasant, non-condescending way. Most Empathy PF's are adults, although some are very mature and respectful teenagers. Empathy PF's also work together, help one another, and fill in for other PF's when needed or perform tasks for projects without active PF's.
While we have several wonderful PF's, we could use more friendly, kind, and patient players who can join their ranks. You can start contributing to the project you want to run right away when you join, however, part of the "patient" trait involves waiting until you have been on the server for a while, typically a month, before you get the PF permissions and an office granted. This is to prioritize security and to screen PF's to make sure they are a good fit and serious/loyal to the server. Good things take time and Empathy PF's make long-term plans and do not undertake them impulsively. If you really are that mature, special, dedicated person that Empathy needs to be a PF, you will understand and not mind the trial period.

Do you like learning? Do you like inspiring others to learn? Do you cry when you finish your homework and wish you had more? Do you like Minecraft almost as much as you like school?
If so, contributing for Empathy Minecraft Academy (EMA) might be right for you! While EMA already has a Project Facilitator, players who actively contribute to EMA will be generously paid, and if they do a good job, and are interested, they may become co-Facilitators.
You can focus on teaching specific classes, contribute to multiple topics, develop items with educational content that is used in quests, etc. You have a lot of freedom on Empathy to not only make educational items, but conceptualize and implement games and challenges that use these items. We have quest writers who can use the educational items you make in quests, misnames plugin and a minigames world where the items you make can be used in minigames. You can issue challenges on the forum and on the server and EMA will pay out rewards.

You can also use online command generators to create banners, books, fireworks, etc. that facilitate education.
We have an awesome plugin made just for us that allows us to load an infinite amount of custom items on NPC's, set the % chance for them to drop when the NPC is farmed, the amount of items that can drop at a time, the durability of the items, etc. The plugin allows all players to select and npc and see a list of items the NPC can drop with /npcdrops list and even a graphical user interface that shows the items the NPC can drop using /npcdrps show. Here is what these look like:
Come help us expand our school and make a positive impact on our Minecraft server. Your content may be used in multiple projects and made available for download. Learning to create educational items is not difficult! All you need is a willingness to learn and some patience.
