Not sure where to post this... but -snip- has been coming onto servers and spamming the chat telling everyone to join his server or he will ddos you...we banned him.... guess who's server is down now. We work really hard to make our server nice we don't go advertise on other servers like idiots... we just want to have fun and countless kids come on and do this crap. I even have a screen cap of him saying he is dosing like 20 servers right now. Why? are they threatened? or just -snip-?

You gotta be smarter than them. DDoS protection is useless, prevention is the best protection. Don't ban using Minecraft, ban using firewalls. It keeps most of the script kiddies away as they don't suspect anything. Once you ban or kick someone they feel challenged. That is your server and you must know how this stuff works to protect yourself and your players. We're dealing with Minecraft players here.
A lot of times, people just make threats to scare people into doing things for them. Ban his IP and just keep turning it on and he'll go away in like an hour. I advise you to get server-hosting which includes DDOS protection.
