Heya, Folks.
I'm Patches, and I had a previous thread for my server, but we've moved to a much
more powerful machine. We decided (Me, My mods, Builders, and Residents [not all of them lol]) to start a new map, fresh! This is to remove all the clutter. Don't fret though! The old stuff is still around, you just have to ask me about it and I'll gladly import it to our new world if it's up to par.
As for new structures, whatever you want! If you can place a block you can probably build there! We don't mind! Honestly! Just follow the rules and you'll be fine!
We now have a staggering 64 slots! You should always be able to find a place on the server! Town can be expanded in seconds, and is prone to do so seeing as how many users we get off and on throughout the day. Recommendation is to build a bit away from town if you plan to build outside the city!
We are rarely at capacity, and we have plenty of anti-grief measures in
place to protect your stuff as well as others! We have very few rules, which are
as follows:
Be respectful
Be ethical
Use common sense
Ask before building right next to some one
That's it! You can build whatever you want! (We'd prefer to keep the phallus..phallusi? phalluses?...anyway...to a minimum). Play survival, or ask for stuff and build whatever!
The Admin (which is me) is available 24/7 by phone (Though I normally let it go to voicemail first),
and the number is provided on the server.
Here are the plugins we use, though not all of them are available to our guests.
And a few more more! We're even open to new plugin suggestions!

Hey... old server disappeared due to admin fatigue and lack of funding. But recently I was able to come up with a hosting solution and funding.
I miss the server, too, but I know that if I bring it back, it won't be the same without all you great players as the community. So... if I do bring it back, would you join? Should I try to get the old town/world restored, or start from scratch? Survival or free building world? I've been considering a hybrid mode: new players mine for goods, with an economy and such, while longtime players get to free-build. I think this would slow down a lot of the griefing as well. Or we could have a separate free-build world so everyone's on equal footing.
Another plan is to promote more moderators. Crafty was very conservative, and I understand his desire to not accidently promote a malicious mod. But we really did need help. Just a matter of trust. Or should we vote on new mods?
Also, it looks like craftypatch is no longer interested in being the admin, so I would be taking his place and funding the server (thanks to my new job ).

Yes well those groups are primarily, for the majority, ten year olds who don't have their degree in "Common Sense", therefore don't know or care about what the consequences are. The way to take care of them is to change their diapers or BAN THEM.

I really don't understand why people make "griefing" teams. You host a minecraft server, and you let people play on it for free, and you spend hours of your time keeping it running (as well as money to keep the server going), and then people band together to take your server down. For fun.

Crafty, blackvirius griefed us big time. He put lava over EVERYTHING, and in such a way that it was purposefully ball-busting to remove (I did finally get it all, though). He also flooded several houses and the supply. I sent one of the member off to call you while I did damage control, but I you never answered.

What about the guy who put ice down and melted the ice? Was he working with blackvirius? I banned them both, btw, in case you didn't ban them already.
Oh, and I disabled both lava and water buckets for guests. They can't even use them now, even if they get them.
I cleaned up a lot of the cobblestone mess, but not all of it.
