I've been wanting to install this mod for a while now, but I always seem to have problems when I try to get them to work. I have checked many places but I can't seem to find anything. I would like to use the actual mod folder and not one that was changed. If someone could give me instructions or give me a .minecraft folder with the mod already added I would be grateful. Also, if you can, I would like to have rei's minimap with it.

I checked it and most sites say that they'll work.

Did you make sure you used the correct versions of Audiomod and ModLoader when you tried to install it? 1.8 Aether may not be compatible the the latest versions of ModLoader and Audiomod. Also, if you did not know, in order to install outdated mods, you should backdate your Minecraft so it is the correct version.
1.8 Aether Mod, 1.8 ModLoader, 1.8 Audiomod, 1.8 Rei's Minimap and 1.8 minecraft.jar should be installed for everything to work correctly without conflictions or crashes.
