Can someone please help me? HOW do I make a CIT shield for 1.12 (shield changes texture based on name)

PLEASE TELL ME, I cant find a guide on this anywhere, since cit somehow works for every item except for shields, PLEASE, help me with this

What's a CIT shield?

A cit is an item that will change it's texture based on it's name (if renamed with an anvil and stuff), its a optifine feature and I couldn't get shield cits to work, but nvm i already found the solution by looking the code of a working one in a resourcepack
