Hey there, i have just finished my project but how do i set the place that players spawn when they first download and start the map?

you can use command blocks instead and much more easily
do the command /give (playername) 137
you should now have a command block, in the block enter the command
/spawnpoint @a
now activate it with redstone and everybody will spawn there even if you destroy the command block

you can use MCedit to change the spawn point and player positions
