How do I turn a 64x32 player skin into a 64x64 skin without it looking weird?

I have a few old 64x32 skins (pre 1.8 minecraft) that I want to turn into 64x64 skins for the npcs of a map I'm making but how do I do it without the arms/legs looking weird? Since I want the limbs to mirror each other as intended.
Is there a tool for doing that?

You can do it using PMCSkin3D (inside the Minecraft tab on PMC), you have to open your skin, click Edit, and there should be a button saying "convert to steve (64x64)" or something like that

But wdym by "looking weird"? I think 64x32 and 64x64 skins should look the same

Ohh okay thank you, and I meant it looks weird if i manually expand the canvas of the image file of the skin, and duplicate the limbs on the right places, aka the limbs are duplicates vs mirrored.

oh ok, you can easily fix that using the Select tool to turn the selected limb around

Oh okay thank you but I already figured that out that PMCSkin3D can easily help convert a skin into a new format.

You can do that easily in the PMCSkin3D tool. In program, open your 64x32 skin (File>>Open file) and from Edit menu select Convert to Steve (full 64x64).
