Image Resizing / General Image Butchery

So I took some screenshots of my server and did some editting to make them look nice. (I'm a Graphic Design student). However I discovered that PMC has possible the worst image resizing I have ever seen. Here is the diffrerence.

I hosted this on mediafire we so can see it pretty much losslessly.
What I would like:
- Image size to be given a maximium size/dpi so we know what we get when we upload
- No image brutalizing (color changes)
What I think this would do:
- Allow for people to create nice looking images
- Know that images will maintain quality even though size is limited
- Remove the nonsense of trying to color correct for what pmc changes.

If I remember correctly, they are currently revamping from scratch the entire forum on their own because this type of foums is too mem using. The small version of the picture is probably correcting this problem for the time being.

As this section is titled "Site Discussion and Support" I am hoping that someone could provide some "support" for this problem.

Hoping a staff member could state either why the system is the way it is. Why it can't be fixed or when it will be fixed.
