When you buy software off of /r/softwareswap, you buy just the key to it. Downloading the program isn't illegal, so you can torrent it, and you won't get in trouble. But doing so is useless, unless you have the key, which is what you buy on reddit. I've gotten keys, and they all work.

Most people get them from college surplus (where they give out keys to students)

And then others get them from Microsoft subscriptions, and other odds and ends. You can tell when a seller is legit/nonlegit by their flair, the admins will give them a flair if they have so many sells, that are legit (as in work)

If you know what you're doing, it's pretty safe, and really cheap.

Oh yeah, how about compact computers? Sure, you'd need to find a portable monitor, which may be hard, but, if you just want a more movable computer...

But I think you're looking for laptops because you want to put them in your lap. So...

Sorry that I suck in finding stuff. I don't know what country you are in, so I can't calculate other stuff, so I'm just finding random stuff in Europe. I have no idea if these guys will have delivery to where you are.
*EDIT 3* The Novatech ones actually sound awesome...wonder why I've never heard of them before. You can also save some good cash (you'll have to add $80 for Windows 8.1, the cheapest guy there) by not including an OS; you can go ahead and buy it later, or you can install a free OS like any of the Linux distros, such as Debian, my personal favourite, or Ubuntu, which is getting insane amounts of support by companies including Valve now (they're making SteamOS, and Steam works in Ubuntu, and Debian too, I think).
*EDIT 4* Yep, Steam is in the non-free section of the Debian archives, ready for use anytime. Lovely; so you have access to all the Linux games in the Steam library, and all Java games including Minecraft.

With the registeration code? I doubt it. All the cash is for the code, only like $5 is charged for the CD and software. You can go ahead and pirate any Windows OS you want for burning or .iso installing, but you ain't getting that valuable code.

It is the registration code. I don't remember how they get the codes but I think they buy them in bulk for cheaper.

Why no mini atx? It'd be just as portable as a laptop and faster.

When you say "play games on it", I assume that you just want to play Minecraft smoothly. So here's a pretty high-quality general purpose laptop from Dell France.

http://www.dell.com/fr/p/inspiron-15-35 ... 542-laptop

When I saw you posted Euros, I went straight to the French website. I don't know why. Also, my family has always gotten Dell laptops, and they are known to be very reliable, lasting a few years, except for the god damn chargers that keep screwing you over to buy them over again. My Dell laptop can play Minecraft just fine with Optifine (not high FPS all the time, but you can play essentially permanently in 20-30 FPS), and can work without Optifine as long as you watch your settings. I can play DotA 2 in it too, as long as settings are low. In fact, most games will be playable on low settings despite the really weak graphics card that shares memory with the RAM (I'm pretty sure your HD 4000 does the same thing, but would be a tad bit stronger and more optimized); I used to even play Skyrim and Far Cry 3 in 10-15 FPS with some heavy mod haxing.

*EDIT* This laptop is damn cheap for its price too, imo. It'd be up to modern standards (T-T 4GB of RAM and Windows 8.1...grr..............I want that......) and reliable. It looks quite pretty too; kinda like my brother's Vostro.
