Is this a good deal for a cumputer?
Okey, so I'm looking for a new PC, it can't be a laptop, since I already have one. It's a HP, with these specs:
6 GB RAM (Can be upgraded to 8GB).
3.3 GHZ i3, 2 cores.
1 TB HDD (No SSD's).
NVIDIA GeForce GT 520, 1 GB video memory.
And I get a 21.5" monitor too.
Windows 7 home permium 64 bit.
The price is about 1000 USD, I'm from Norway, so here it's 5999 NOK.
I'm not sure if this is a good deal, so please comment with what you think .
I'm going to use the computer to play Minecraft, and school work, may host a little friend server sometimes .

whats a cumputer?
the_soupEryaxOh, no.
People, let's avoid all Mac vs. PC references, alright?
It always ends up in a locked thread.
Er, posted that right as you posted this. Sorry, my bad.
Yeah same here
But yeah you are getting ripped off man

You're getting ripped off man, in my opinion, don't get a PC. Get a MacBook Pro, or a MacBook Air, and you can get them for the same price as that computer you're getting.
BurketmaYou're getting ripped off man, don't get a PC, they suck. Get a MacBook Pro, or a MacBook Air, and you can get em for the same price.

31,868.63 NOK = 5,588.74 USD
$5000 for a computer, and it's only an i7 I can't get over that.
Tell ya what, I've seen this question a ton tonight so I'll write a generic guide for building a computer when I finish this script I'm working on. For now, look at this:

Pick a processor, find a motherboard that supports it, then build the rest of your system around what is compatible.
The only reason why he is getting that good(-ish) of a computer is to play games. The game support on a mac is quite atrocious.
OP: The fact is, the computer was over-priced. There are much better deals!

Your joking right?
Windows, in my opinion, are WAYYY better that Macs. Windows is cheaper for the same specs. Windows rules the computer and Mac the handhelds

Don't start a flame war.For the love of god, please keep your opinions to yourself if you're going to voice them so bluntly.
I lol'd at the title.

Agreed.
lol, at least someone's with me!
Yeah mac all the way you do not lose any functionalitys I even did a science experiment on performance with osx lion and windows 7. My results were mac outperformed windows on less hardware. So it is better performance to get a mac so you don't have to stock up on the ram 4gb or 6gb is sufficient, and an i7 intel dual core, what I would get.
The reason nobody is "with you" is because you've already been asked once to NOT bring opinions that obvious into this topic to start a flame war. Please just answer the question; is THAT computer overpriced? Not what he should get, just THAT ONE THERE.
Nobody cares about mac vs. pc. Please leave it be.

*facepalm*
You are getting ripped off bad.
Don't get that, you're getting absolutely ripped off.
That is a terrible price. For one thing, a 3.3 GHz i3? I hope you have some good fans for that. I built my computer which has a quad core i7 (4 GHz), an Nvidia Geforce GTX 295 (dual GPU, 1.75 GB), 16 GB of DDR3 RAM (upgradable to 32 GB), 1 Tb combined hard drive space+270 GB SSD, all for about 500 dollars including the 24 Inch monitor. Of course my dad is an IT technician so I had the case, motherboard, power supply, and other various accessories already.
My laptop came with 8gb ram, an i5 processor and a tb of HDD and it was £499... which is, I think, about $700? Any way, it was MUCH less than that.

Well, i think it would be a good deal/idea, but depending on what your doing. My Mac (even from Apple, which is a rip) which was $1,200, has:
4GB RAM (6GB)
2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (3.3 GHz)
319 GB HDD (1 TB)
NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB (1 GB)
13" Monitor (21.5")
I think you are getting a steal of a deal Where are you buying it?! XD
