What doesw it mean to format a usb?

Hey so i was playing urban terror and it was working fine and now it quit the game and it said this usb needs to be formatted. how can i fix this?

Usually you'd only format when you want.
The reason it's forcing you to format is because the data is corrupted. sorry

Make a backup of them, that means just open your USB on the computer, then drag-and-drop the files to a different folder on your desktop or wherever.[/quote]

Format = delete. You cant format something with out deleting it, then its not formatting. Duh.

Format: Format means to delete all of its files, folders and such. Completely "format" the USB.
