I was just wondering but what exactly is Planet Minecraft? I've been wondering this question latley and I sort of know but I don't really have the full anwser.

It is a website. The dictionary reference website defines a website as a connected group of pages on the World Wide Web regarded as a single entity, usually maintained by one person or organization and devoted to a single topic or several closely related topics. That is what Planet Minecraft is.

Then Notch said "Let there be a great mod!" And Orespawn was coded and released on Planet Minecraft.
Then Notch realized his planet lacked variety. Let there be skins!
Nowhere was there a sense of community. Let there be servers! Let there be forums!
Let there be texture packs.....No! Let there be resource packs!
And then Notch rested and sold Minecraft to Microsoft. And then his disciples Jebediah and Dinnerbonrius were born. Herobrine tempted the people with false submissions, so PMC mods mediated the planet.
And somewhere along the line Horses, Squid, and slime blocks were added..........
