What is the best GPU for mostly playing minecraft and playing a bit of other games like Arma 3?
Hello,
I own a gtx 960 but i think i should upgrade but i dont know which gpu to upgrade too, i have done countless hours browsing the internet! I am looking for a gpu which would play Arma 3, Ark Survival Evolved and those sort of games!
I'm looking for something which would destroy 1080p and maybe 1440p,
If you think i should upgrade a different part of my computer then tell me and if its not on the pc specs list i go add it!
PC Specs:
CPU: I5-4690k
Ram: 1600mhz 16gb ddr3
GPU: GTX 960
Ask for anymore specs.

A 960 should do you well for now at 1080p, if your going to upgrade but play mainly mincraft then a 1050/1050ti should be plenty. A 108 would be well and truly overkill. Personally i would upgrade your cpu to either a ryzen or a latest series intel series maybe go to an i5 again. This would mean you would have to upgrade your motherboard too.

Thank you for your reply!

If you resolved to upgrade your GPU, the stock GTX 1080 performs well at higher resolutions (source).
Minecraft leans more on the CPU because of Java's garbage collecting. Your CPU looks like the bottleneck here. If you want to research it, download Oracle's Java Mission Control and run the Flight Recorder with Minecraft open.
I would upgrade to an i7 processor- even one from your current processor's generation, which I'm sure you could find at a lower price.

I would go for a 1080 ti, but if your budget doesn't allow, go for a gtx 1060 6gb

You do not need any vram to play minecraft. I used to play it on a 1gb ati card. I now have a 1050ti and its still runs above 60. But for arma3.. Arma 3 is more of a cpu heavy game and you will most likely not getting constant 60 in mutiplayer. Ark is another horribly optimized game. You have a good setup if that 960 is a 4gb vram card.

Yes my gpu is a 4gb one

You're definitely gonna need a very good gpu to run ark smoothly. I have a gtx 1080 and it still isn't perfect. But if you're only running minecraft then maybe a 1050?

I 1050 is like a gtx 960
