Why Aren't My Crops Growing?
My crops in this spot aren't growing. As you can see, the land is fertile and I've given them more than enough light to grow. Why don't they grow? They're a mixture of potatoes and carrots, if that has anything to do with it, and it's not just me being impatient. I've harvested and this is the second time this exact spot isn't growing. What gives?

It may be lack of light. Try putting torches on the ceiling. Lol found that trick out a few months ago. xD

From this page;
"The usual worst-case conditions for growing are crops placed out of rows on dry farmland. In this case the growth probability is approximately 4%, and it will take about 4 hours for most of the crops to reach maturity (about 12 minecraft days)"
In short, if you don't have water, your crops will grow extremely slow. That seems to be the case, unless you've hidden the water underneath.

I'm not sure if water under the crops actually works :l
If you want to efficiently farm, you can put a block of water in the middle of a 9x9 square. Every block will be watered and it is very efficient.
Ex:
It's unbelievable how long that example took xD

Because it hates you...
To be serious I have no idea. Maybe its the blocks that are surrounding it. Try Google searching your problems and see what comes up. If nothing else works, make back ups of all the important MC files and re-install.
