It's something we've all built in our Minecraft worlds. Whether it be to get food, or to get infinite cobblestone, a farm is something that everyone knows about. But what exactly is a farm? This contest will hopefully help us find the answer.
Build a farm, whatever the hell that means to you. From the fanciest barn house ever to the simplest semi-automatic Zombie farm, create and perfect whatever YOU personally think a farm is. My friend and I (runners of Nopefully) will sort through all of the submissions and pick our top five, making display videos of those farms. Then we will leave it up to YOU guys to choose the best out of the five and decide who takes home the prize.
The winner of the contest will receive the Humble Bundle 3, which includes twelve fantastic games like VVVVVV, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Braid, Machinarium, and plenty more. The winner will receive the games in the form of a redeemable gift code which can be used at humblebundle.com. We paid $20 for this package, if you're curious.
Rules:
- All farms must not be dependent on any mods (RedPower, Better Than Wolves, etc.)
- All entries should either take the place of a linked Planet Minecraft project (with screenshots and map downloads) or a YouTube video response to the above video
- All entries are due November 20th, 2011, 11:59 PM PST

(And to the mods, if there are any problems with this contest, please tell me and I'll do my best to fix them)

The contest still ends today at 11:59 PM PST. If you are almost done, create a PMC project for your project no matter its state, and label it as incomplete (50% done or whatever). At least have a title and some screenies of what you have accomplished so far. You must then finish the project by Wednesday, November 23rd, 11:59PM PST, update your PMC project page, and resubmit it to me (by PM or something). I hope this helps all the people who are nearing completion, but NOT allow people who haven't even started yet to begin.

I'm still working on mine. I haven't had too much time to put into it, but I'm kinda juggling school, this contest, the skin contest, and another project. I should get it done by saturday, but it might be finished by sunday. Sorry it's so late.

Nope! We don't need to install the mob spawner GUI mod once you've set the mob spawners, so it falls under the realm of TooManyItems or SPC-like mods, which are fine.

I mean, with the Merchant Mod, I can buy all the Equipment I need to make it [I need to get myself some money first], So its rather easy for me.
Merchant Mod lets me buy Hoes, Water Buckets and all types of Seeds, so I can pretty much just start a map and then wait for a Merchant Village to be spawned, go to it and start my farm.
So is the Merchant Mod allowed, or do I have to do it without it?

I must admit, I'm not familiar with the Merchant Mod. As long as we do not have to install that mod in order to check out your farm, then it is okay.

I dont think you do, Ill make sure theres no Market parts on the map left for ya though, just to make sure. If not, Ill make a Backup, which doesnt have the Mod.

Are we limited to one type of farm, or can we have say, a mob farm, and a plant farm, in the same farm. If that makes sence.

As long as you find someway to integrate them together, it's fine. But remember, quantity does not necessarily mean quality!
