  lol I just realized how much Gloryhammer lore reminds me of Lord of the Rings
  
  I was just reading the lyrics for “The Fires of Ancient Cosmic Destiny” (closing track on Tales From Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex) and the battle depicted in the song just gave me LotR vibes
  
  Plus, Zargothrax reminded me of Sauron, and the Deathknights of Crail were like the Nazgûl
  
  And doesn’t this song sound like it’d be played over a LotR clip or smthn?

  This is honestly a pretty sick song.
  
  Gloryhammer is an Anglo-Swiss symphonic metal band where all their band members are characters and they have an entire frickin’ lore story told through their albums. As a lore writer, you can see how this may make me excited.
  
  This song, “Apocalypse 1992,” is the closing track to their second album, Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards, and follows Angus McFife XIII as he leads the forces of Dundee into a battle in space against the demon hordes of the chaos wizard Zargothrax, who sought to open the Chaos Portal to the 18th Hell Dimension to release the Elder God Kor-Virliath. In the end, the Hootsman sacrificed his life to stop Zargothrax’s galactic conquest by destroying the Earth and all life on it, tearing a hole in space called the Terrorvortex, which led to the 18th Hell Dimension. Zargothrax went in, McFife followed, and the story continued into their third album, Legends From Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex.
  
  Even if the lore is too much (lol), just listen to the song and enjoy it, because it’s really good, and symphonic metal is really good, and, you know what, just listen to the song, godangit!

  Just finished listening to this album, and it's my first time hearing an entire Avantasia album. They're awesome, you should check them out! (By the way, this album has a sequel of sorts that came out last year, titled A Paranormal Evening with the Moonflower Society.)
  
  Oh, and my favorite song from it is the opening track, "Ghost in the Moon." It's a beautiful song, reminds me of the opening song for a musical, and it was the first Avantasia song I heard.

  This song is called "Judas," a standalone single released by German power metal band Helloween that was later included on the expanded version of their debut studio album, Walls of Jericho. It's been included on every re-release of the album since. Read these lyrics, and tell me what you think the song is about?
