Datapack Jam is back for another week-long jam in June!

About

Welcome back to our 2025 Summer Datapack Jam, a competition where we challenge the community to make a themed datapack in just one week! We’re excited to be hosting another datapack jam after our year-long hiatus. Come along and join us for the ride!

There’s a countdown to the start of the jam further down the page. The jam theme will be revealed near the start time - a wall post will be sent, and this page will be edited. Don’t miss it - remember to hit the join button to get jam updates on your home page.

DATES: 10th June - 17th June (starts/ends at 6pm UTC)
PRIZES: $15 Steam or Xbox gift card for 1st place, Discord role for runners up!

THEME: Companion

Judging
All datapacks are judged on the following 4 criteria:

  • Creativity - Is your datapack original? Is it fun to play? Have you gone overboard with details, storylines, etc?
  • Polished-ness - Have you managed to make your datapack feel like a finished product within the challenging time limit?
  • Interpretation - How well does your datapack reflect the theme of the jam? Is it unique?
  • Effort - Have you put in effort and tried your best to make an awesomesauce datapack?

Rules
To make Datapack Jam fair, please stick to these simple rules. If you’ve already read them, then they’re the same as last time.

1. Use your own work and ideas. Online tools are allowed, but make sure to credit them.
2. Stick to the theme. You can get as creative as possible, but your datapack must be based on the theme.
3. Do not intentionally copy others. Use your ideas, you can do it!
4. Datapack must be made within the time given. Do not use old datapacks.
5. You can work in teams of 3. You can also go solo if you can’t find a friend.
6. Stick to Planet Minecraft’s rules. Any datapack that goes against the PMC rules will be disqualified from this or future events and removed from PMC.

This is not an official jam hosted by PMC.
