About

What’s This About?

The Nostalgia Jam is all about taking a trip back to the good old days of Minecraft, when the game was simpler and everything felt new and exciting. We’re inviting you to create stuff that looks and feels like Minecraft did in its early versions—like the beta days or early releases.

Please note this is an unranked jam!

What Can You Make?

You can make almost anything, as long as it reminds people of the old days of Minecraft. Here’s what you can create:

  • Maps: Build worlds that feel like classic Minecraft. Maybe a survival map that looks like it came from the Alpha days, or a simple adventure map. Just make sure people can download your map to play it!

  • Skins: Design character skins that have that old-school, blocky look. Think of the early Steve or other simple designs from back in the day.

  • Texture Packs: Make texture packs that look like they came from Minecraft’s early days. Keep it simple and retro—less detail is better!

  • Mods: Create mods that bring back old features or add new things that feel like they belong in early Minecraft. Think about what made those old versions special and try to capture that.

  • Data Packs: Use data packs to tweak the game and give it that early Minecraft vibe. You can add or change things to make the game feel like it did back then.

Rules

  1. Make It Yourself: Whatever you submit needs to be something you made for this jam. No copying!

  2. Stick to the Theme: Everything you make should remind people of old Minecraft. It needs to have that nostalgic feel.

  3. Maps Need Downloads: If you make a map, make sure people can download it and play it.

  4. Be Creative: Have fun with it! You can stick to the classics or come up with something new that still feels like it belongs in early Minecraft.

  5. Play Nice: Be respectful and follow Planet Minecraft’s rules.
