Recipes? On a Minecraft website!?
That's right! We're a creative community fan-site, so sharing other creative hobbies is part of the fun. 😁
And let's take some inspiration, there's plenty of food in Minecraft to write your recipe for:
  • Cake
  • Pumpkin pie
  • Mushroom stew
  • Cookies
  • Cooked salmon
  • Roast chicken
  • Bread
  • Zombie jerky (err.. maybe not that one)
You can also get creative and design your blog with some Minecraft-flair.
Or imagine what the Minecraft-recipe for your dish would be, and share that along with it!
Any tips for my blog presentation?
There are several things you can do to score well on presentation:
  • Take nice photo's of your steps and final result (& mind your privacy when doing so!)
  • Don't want to use photo's? Then you could share drawings with your recipe!
  • Be creative in your writing and markup. You can use colored text, different font sizes and play around with the layout of your blog using tables (we mean the row and column type, not the dinner table type).
What kind of recipes can I share?
You write it
It's important that you write the recipe by yourself.

You don't have to invent it
You don't have to come up with a recipe from scratch: it can be your personal version of an existing recipe that you love. Make sure to credit your sources!

It can be any food or drink
It can be any baking, cooking, mixing or snack crafting you can dream of!
Including but not limited to: cookies, cakes, BBQ, pizza, sandwiches, jam, your favorite way to eat cereal, iced tea, a family recipe or a Minecraft food...
But remember the 'Tastiness' criterium: your zombie jerky might not score big points!
How should I judge the entries?
Participants judge each other!
For this to be fun, make sure to rate fairly. The most important part is that you are consistent with the way you use the rating criteria.
Here they are with some extra explaining:
  • Presentation is the look of the recipe blogs. Does it have nice pictures or images? Is the layout and markup of text nice to look at? How much creativity went into showing off the recipe in a fun or appealing way?
  • Tastiness is how tasty you think this recipe would be. 'How much would I enjoy having this?' or 'Would I order this on a menu?' could be helpful questions to ask yourself when rating this! We don't ask you to actually go and try & taste the recipes.
  • Recipe quality is all about whether you understand the recipe. Do the steps make sense? Are you missing essential details to know what to do? Is the writing style fun and easy to read, or convoluted and incomprehensible?
