ty! i definitely recommend not using multiply layers especially if youre going for a more painted less cel shaded look. (multiply layers are still probably fine for simple cel shading though)

AI has stolen a lot of art from artists like this as you've probably seen ai creates imagery with a lot of soft light shading, which is this artists style. I can see how you may have gotten it confused, but this is a real artist with real art. 6138 made a couple of good examples about what to spot if you think something may be ai generated, you can also check if someone has speedpaints, how long they've been making art, their past art pieces and such because usually those are good indicators that it's not ai if someone's been making art for a long time and it shows how much they've improved over time.

well i guess i just need to really take my time and observe other people's art and try to recreate the parts i find to be the hardest based on the other persons art and uhh yeah hope it works :3

study ALOT if you actually wanna get good. (hands are a pain for everyone, dw lol) also be aware that anatomy and character drawing in general is about as hard as it gets. things like landscapes and inanimate objects are infinitely easier to draw
