Is that using iMovie? Do you know if there are any 'secret settings' hidden somewhere?
In an older version, you use to be able to set all of that stuff yourself. Now it seems to be a pre-configured selection of 'Low, Medium, High, Pro'. There is also custom, but the only changes you can make are resolution and a size slider ranging from 2mbs/s to 16. There is no option for Frame rate or FPS. I'm not keen on using a slider... surely that can't be good for the overall picture quality.

It's probably the recording software, although I am using iMovie at the moment and the only settings I seem to have when exporting is the resolution and the "quality". High churns out something that's about 1GB, and 'Pro' gives me a 3GB file.

It's either eating pixels or frame rate. Thanks for your comment.

You guys should be so lucky! To bad Niantic, creators of Pokemon Go aren't out surfing for content from the community on sites such as reddit!

But to be honest, what Mojang are doing right now, is doing what you guys are asking: (just a few people picked at random)


ethernity4everThey have to sit down, make a nice long change list, and then work on it, implement some mod stuff, add new building materials, etc.

Have you noticed the number of bugs they have squashed recently? And, as you can tell, they have been adding more blocks (just over the course of months and updates)

-better general gameplay mechanics
-Mod compatibility throughout versions
-efficient code


- That's covered by the 1.9 Combat mechanics!
- This is the reason for the small updates
- They are working on that now.

Nobody on this thread is seeing the bigger picture, obviously.
1. Minecraft is not dieing, and will not die within the next 5 years. (I bet $5)
2. Mojang was bought by Microsoft for $2.5B. A company like this would not make a risky investment. They know it's worth. (Example: Minecraft Education Eddition)
3. 1.11 gives users the ability to tinker with "add-ons". This is the Future of Mods.
4. Microsoft, like Apple and Google have "eco-systems". That means all of their devices and programs work together. Soon, Minecraft will be able to work with different versions and platforms, again, the reason for the small updates.

Rest asured, you guys might think they aren't doing anything right, but the fact is, they are doing everything that is required.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm just about to go to bed, so I quickly made a few so that I could get a bit of coverage over night. I'll be sure to fix them up tomorrow!


ethernity4everVideo Quality: 6/10 - But it will improve over time, the frame rate is a bit low, so theres not much you can do about it except upgrade the computer

Sound Quality: 8/10 - Overall good, but your volume differs in videos, try recording all videos at the same volume.

Voice Style: Cant rly rate something like this, I would just say add some jokes, try to not have such long pauses of silence, etc.

Overall Opinion: 7/10 - Overall ok, Could use improvements to make it better.

Suggestions - Wrote suggestions on your other topic.

- I'm using a Lapel mic, tied to a tripod. I'll get a ruler out in the future to make sure the distance is right

- I think the hardest thing is talking, constantly. I should get better with practice, though.
- I haven't got any views on the second video yet, so I would highly suggest taking a look at it with regard to cutting and making the video more interesting.
- Intro and outro will be created this weekend, hopefully. I wanted to see the direction it was going in first.

Anyway, thanks for suggestions!

I think you are definitely better off creating a Spigot plugin, especially if you have limited experience- which it would seem since you are asking this question in the first place.

As a server owner or administrator, there is no way I would go out of my way to add your custom mod, just because it makes pvp better. This is a big risk, especially if my player base must first download another launcher or even just a client side mod.

This as a mod, would have to be big, really big, If you wanted it to be successful. This is because a Mod might not work with Factions or Prison servers. So unless you plan on creating a completely new game mode and you have the knowledge and experience to do so, It's not worth the risk, time or effort and potentially money.

A plugin, on the other hand, can be added and removed from most servers virtually any time. You will be able to release updates to the entire community much more quickly as only the server needs to update, not the client. And because of the size of the spigot community, if your plugin is good, it will spread like wildfire.

As a rule of thumb, anything client side should be single player based. Unless it's like Pixelmon, which again is a complete game mode in itself with 3D models and textures, there is no reason to create a mod for the purpose of a little extra flavor added to pvp.

Spigot is the ideal place to grow ideas into larger projects, and I know you are 100% better off if you make a Spigot plugin. Good Luck.

Communities/Mapping How to Avoid Having a Square Build

Firstly, Nice work!

I think you really nailed the detail on this build and have given a lot of depth.

It is a bit square, but it is a castle after all. In this time period, a lot of structures would have been pretty square due to it being a strong angle and easy to construct. So there is a certain aspect of realism in it.

However, if you wanted to make it look less square, as mentioned above, try using different shapes. Otherwise, look at the detail side of things again. You could give the build a more rustic- less square look by having some parts broken and crumbling.

Now I think we can all see that you are fairly talented, and that's why I was wondering if you are part of any kind of building groups, etc. If not, my server is currently looking for someone to manage the creative server. You won't need to install any plugins or set anything up, but you will be a staff member that not only helps other players, but you will also run Competitions and events.

Thanks for your comment, please read the full post next time. Just to help you out, here are some vital parts of the post that you seem to have missed;

"The position on offer is Creative Manager"

"- Organizing fun and engaging competitions on the Creative server,"

At no point is the word 'Developer' or 'Coder' mentioned. Perhaps you were confused when I said;

"- Exploring new plugins and other add-ons that fit the server and its style."

But again, I said 'Explore' not 'Code' or 'Develop'. Please in future read the full post in its entirety, before making an assumption.
