I'm finally taking a break. Forcing myself to take a break for a while. Been working on the map for the past week, and it is taking a tole.... But rest assured, I've got ideas for my return.

I've got a list of things that still need done.

    • 13 sections of beach cliffs
    • the cave
    • several mineshaft exits (Including the entrance leading from the cave)
    • 2 bridges (1 big, 1 tiny)
    • The second layer of cliffs. Doubling the height of the cliffs they are now, a whole several tasks on its own.
    • Missions. Each and every section of the map will be explored. Collecting things, farming things, ranching things, breaking things, killing things, scavenging things, ect. I want each city dweller to have their own line of story missions to complete, some only unlocking after completing some of the different missions for other people.

However, the map will be strictly adventure. You''ll sometimes get tools that cna break certain blocks, but for the most part, the map remains intact. In the future, maybe a Ranch Craft 3, I want to use world painter to make a custom map, with quests and such, but this time entirely in survival so you can truly build what you want, craft your own farms while completing quests for people across all the lands. One day. I estimate Ranch Craft 2 will take only a few more months (breaks included). Maybe june is when I'll finally be done with it. When I get done, I plan on going full marketing. I want to make trailers for it, post on different minecraft reddits, post stuff on planetminecraft. I just want my baby to finally greet the world.

I decided to take a detour and work on the GIGANTIC beach. The beach runs the length of the entire valley, though isn't that wide out, but you'll have a good sized area you can explore on the beach and the ocean. But past the part you can explore, it is MASSIVE to give you the illusion that the ocean goes on forever. Plus I had to try and accommodate 32 render distance players with the ocean distance. It'll be huge.

Next thing to do is add coral all along the ocean floor... Then build the cliffs for the beach area and then build the cliffs around the entire valley way up into the sky.

I think I've got the main part of the map complete now... A bit more for the cliffs, then the beach, and then add in the villager trades and functionality with the tools for adventure mode... Then for complex maps in the future, I gotta learn a whole new things isnce they have gotten rid of NBT data for components.

Been a while since I've updated here. I've now finished the main circle of cliffs around the valley for Ranch Craft 2. Next comes building up the cliffs to be larger and make the valley appear even deeper than it is already. Really give the world some depth. Apart of me wishes that I had used a map with actual terrain so I could have the player be in survival instead of being forced to be in adventure, but maybe for another map I can do that :)... Ranch Craft 3 maybe?

Next map for sure will be using the latest snapshots to include the new blocks, wolves, and more.

After not having worked on Ranch Craft 2 since about september, I finally did a bit of work. Completed another section of cliffside, also did this big rock in the center of the valley. Likely, I won't work on it again for a while, but if I do, I'll post another update here.

I'm a man of a million ideas who can't fully follow through on any of them, so take this one with a grain of salt.

I've got this idea to do a challenge where I begin in beta 1.7.3 all the way to 1.21. Collecting all the blocks and items in the game, creating a museum of sorts as I go. But that is just the in-game aspect. Out-of-game, I want to make a texture pack/resource pack for each and every update! I've just finished creating a basic texture pack for 1.7.3 with default textures, so I'm gonna start playing the game and making some textures now.

It has been a while since I've worked on the map. Last time I opened it was July 3rd...

I have begun working on it again however, Worked a bit on the cliffs yesterday. Really it is just repetitive having to build and detail so many cliffs.

Finished the basic cliff around the city. The city will have cliffs that'll be eating the sky. Even have some long ropes of dirt crossing the sky when you look up just to signify the claustrophobic of the city. Whilst the country side will be wide open, nothing to block the sky as the cliffs will be heading outwards, like you're in a canyon and the city is in a cave.

The railway will circle the entire valley before finally reaching the train station. There will be barriers to prevent the player from hopping off the rails into locked areas. You'll get a sense of what is to come, without being able to explore it quite yet.

Also, this time, there will be no points where you are meant to be placed in survival mode in certain areas, and adventure mode everywhere else... This is an adventure mode map. But I will add nbt data to the tools to allow the player to hoe dirt, plant seeds on farmland, break certain collectable blocks, ect... So the farmland areas will be meticuously planned out to allow for giant areas and small areas of dirt patches you can find and make your own. There will be barns you can purchase as well which'll allow you to care for animals. I found out you can make it so spawn eggs can only be placed on a certain block, so that'll prevent the player from just placing animals wherever and if you want a chicken as a pet, you'll have to slowly lead it to your home.

I've finished the city, now working on the terrain around it. Once I finish up that, I'll start on the country side where the player will be collecting things, and farming crops and animals... I've even got some idea about things the player can do, like if you find a special lever, you can turn the subway lights on. Or if you find some tnt or something, you can clear a pathway making a shortcut

I am already working on a new map. RanchCraft 2... This time, the city aspect is much bigger and is seperated from the country side by train. It'll have more direction than the last map.

The map is almost done... I just need to add a bit of lighting, and add the villager trades and the entire map is done. I think this is my very first huge scaled map that I have actually completed and I am super proud of it. Can't wait to share it.

I think one reason I've tried and failed to create maps before was because I kept trying to make it so the player could obtain EVERY farmable item and block. I had to just give the player so much it became overwhealming for me to build and design things. I also had to include the nether, and had to change the biomes so that the player could get everything possible. I had to change biomes in the overworld so the player could build farms in different biomes to obtain everything... But I was missing out on one key concept.

    Limitation is key.

For this new map, the player will be in adventure mode with occasional areas which allow for survival. There is no nether. There will be 1 biome for the whole map. There will be plenty of ways to get creative and have fun though.

Alright. It has been a little bit... The map is coming along nicely. It is WAY bigger than this one, I mean HUGE. entirely designed and placed by hand terrain, custom trees, townhouses, a market, and several plots you can build within! I have spent SO many hours designing this map, at one point I made a mistake with a command and erased a bit of my progress, but I had created a backup, so I only lost 2 hours.

The map won't be ready for a while longer, but I am so excited to reveal it!

For MossBlock, I have finished creating the challenges for now. I still need to add all the crafting recipes into a datapack still, but now I have all the recipes created and challenges made and ready. I still intend to create something for the nether, give you a way to craft more items, like redstone, lapis, emeralds, ect. But for now, only the overworld.

I have finished reworking all the recipes. I am highly satisfied with them, the real only thing that I need to maybe tweak is how much you get of everything. I also need to redo the challenges still. I've also added a bunch of new recipes for items not in the first version of the map to open up the ability to make some late game challenges. For example, there is 36 ancient debris both above and below all the islands that you will eventually be able to mine and complete a challenge. Diamonds are avalible, however, it requires a LOT of coal... I mean hundreds, so it will take a long time to enchant any tools or listen to any music discs.

So for example, I have a plants recipe book which will contain ALL the plant recipes, which means figureing out a fun way to craft all plants in the game which sometimes means stretching things a bit... Like I need to figure out a way to create bamboo or sugar cane... But how do I go from square plants to very thin and long plants? Gotta stretch some things and leave a few things to the imagination

I am re-working the crafting recipes for MossBlock. Instead of having them all inside of one single book, I plan on having multiple books (All named accordingly) and maybe a png file of pictures for all the recipes in categories.

I also want to refine the challenges quite a bit, I didn't know what to put near around 30 or so, so it did end up being a lot of copy and paste and boring challenges.

Alright, I know I've posted before about working on different projects, but this one is different.

I am working on creating a new map where you start off with 3 items. 12 bonemeal, 1 mossblock, and a bunch of stone. You gotta craft the results from the moss to get new things and eventually get to the point you can complete a long list of challenges
