If you just want to do gaming, AMD may be the way to go. Their cards are cheaper, and most next gen games will be optimized for AMD due to its adoption in the new consoles. If you want to do heavyweight simulation (e.g. animation, fluid dynamics, population-based statistics, material analysis, etc.), Definitely go with intel, probably i7.

I could put this into a mod if you want, but I'm not sure about the situation with forge and 1.7. I can defiinitely do it in 1.5, still having issues with 1.6 texture system though.

Try OptiFine first. That typically helps, unless mods have incompatibilities, like the one with Modular Powersuits.

Also, try alotting more RAM for your game. A quick Google search should tell you how to increase RAM allowed for Java. Just make sure that you leave enough for your client and the server (if you are running it)

If you aren't running the server, it my just be lag server-side, but I will assume that you mean 10FPS on your end.

    Hope this helps!

A PC has the capability to right click with one button. A mac requires enough buttons to necessitate two people just to take a screenshot. Also, macs cost 3-4 times as much for equivalent hardware in a PC. Also, firewire cables are an invention of Apple to make money off of people. Also, you need a screwdriver from an alien planet if you want to open a mac and put your own hard drive in. Also, only "Apple certified" people possess these alien tools. Also, Apple computers don't have touch screens. Also, PC's can have interchangeable batteries if you are running a laptop. Additionally, apple HDD's sound like a robot bug dropped in highly acidic water when they boot up. Also ventilation in MacBooks is the equivalent of breathing through a coffee stir.

I will say that people who use macs are usually very creative, and nice people. I dislike them in absolutely no way. I simply dislike the company that gets away with charging $2000 for the equivalent of a $450 PC laptop.

You could build this if you were willing to shell out 12K$, but that is crazy. I just put this together when I was bored, seeing what I would do if I had no budget for a computer.

What I would do is make a copy of your entire .minecraft directory elsewhere on your computer before deleting it. That way, you don't have to look for specific worlds you want to save, and if it doesn't work, you have your old profiles, worlds, server data, login credintials, etc. still there.

You can't have someone send you a minecraft.jar file. That is against the Minecraft terms of service that you agreed to. It is ILLEGAL to distribute the Minecraft game files unless you are Mojang.

    l_Pro_AssassinWindows 7, definately.

why ? windows 8 layout is alot nicer but can you download games and shit ?

Heaps and heaps of great programs are not compatible with Windows 8, I don't think that Minecraft works on Windows 8 either but I'm not sure, you might need to look that up. I personally hate the Windows 8 layout. I would MUCH rather get Windows 7, you can always upgrade later anyway. If you want to play games, get Windows 7, and you just want to surf the web, get Windows 7 or Windows 8. Windows 7 is better, Windows 8 is pretty much created for the new 'Surface' Tablet.

Minecraft, Steam, and many games work on Win 8, but it looks too much like the Apple layout. This is counter intuitive as I use Windows because I do not like Apple UI and all of that. So, Windows 8 works fine, but Windows 7 is better.
