    Dear god that power supply.

Your best bet is going the APU route with that small of a budget.

One final thing, YouTube doesn't do 60FPS, it gets bumped down to 30 and video's end up looking like shit if you let YouTube downsample 60FPS recordings.

You forgot a hard-drive. Other than that, decent build. Here's my take on what you should get. It's just about the best you can get for this budget.

He didn't include one in his OP, that or an OS. I'm assuming he would be salvaging one from another PC.

Poorly? That thing is running souley on the on-die GP.

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-G ... 567.0.html

For $1,000, you could easily build a system that'll handle just about everything. All-in-ones aren't exactly cost effective.

Are you alright with shopping around other sites like Newegg, or is it strictly Amazon?

    AMD A10 5800K $122.68 & FREE Shipping (Amazon)
    Gigabyte GA-F2A55M-DS2 $57.24 & FREE Shipping (Amazon)
    G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB 2133MHz $74.70 with promo-code GSKILLHALLTEN & Free Shipping (Newegg)
Antec VSK-3000 Case $29.99 & Free Shipping (Newegg)
Antec VP-450 450 Watt Power Supply $34.59 & FREE Shipping (Amazon)

In total, it ends up being around $317 for the whole thing(if you live in a state that doesn't charge sales tax on online purchases).

A few benchmarks in case you want to see how well it'll perform:
    A10 5800K Benchmarks

You'll actually get a higher framerate because of the higher clocked RAM in this build. Since the AMD APU is dependent on system memory, higher clocked memory means higher framerate. The TomsHardware Benchmark used 1600HMz RAM. Source

    Benchmarks WITH 2133MHz RAM(at 720p, not 1080p):

If you don't plan on overclocking, lose the aftermarket HSF. You can switch the case for something cheaper like a Fractal Design Core 1000 as well as getting rid of that fan and soundcard. Onboard sound is fine and case airflow isn't too big of a problem on the low end and yeah, switching the PSU for something else like a XFX 450W or Antec Green 380W PSU would be your best bet.

    Overall, good build.

I'm sorry... You have 10GB of RAM and your first instinct is to get more?
What the hell is with this idiotic forum and it's obsession with 16/32GB of RAM? Have all of the Let's Plays rotted your brains or do you think "herpadurp skeedismincreft an cayptinspriklez has 32gb ov rem, dat meens i nede it two ur els i can no ran gam".

To answer your question, OP, no. CPU is "fine"(I'm using that word very loosely). The CPU uses Bulldozer cores, you know what that means...! Per core performance is abysmal. But hey, at least it outperforms the APUs in the next gen consoles.

You're fine on the memory front.

Considering the PS4's GPU is the equivalent to a desktop HD 5850, that HD 7450 doesn't even come close. It's such a basic card that it's enough to run most games at the very lowest of settings at <1080p. The card can't do 1080p gaming with a playable(24FPS or better) framerate.

All in all, if you did any research, you could have nabbed yourself something like a iBuyPower/CyberPower prebuilt with a A10 5800K if you had no intention of building your own.

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1LRFO There you go.

You can go even cheaper by bumping the HDD down to that 500GB drive you had picked out in your OP. That and going with something like a Rosewill FBM-01 for your case. It has zero cable management features but it's cheap and reliable.

You're overpaying for the RAM, HDD, case, PSU, and the optical drive.

That and if you're looking to overclock, Haswell runs hot and air doesn't cut it.

You end up with something that looks like >>this<< that's cheaper and has a better GPU.

You can try something like Recuva or Pandora Recovery and see if you have any luck. If any portion of the data has already been overwritten on the hard disk, the world is pretty much irretrievable.

    Still worth a shot, though.

RAM is cheap and inexpensive, a video card isn't. Adding a second DIMM that only costs $25-30 is cost effective. Replacing a $70 video card for a $80 video card isn't.

That is what I could consider a baby "supercomputer" to be, not.a single measly i7. Dual Xeon E5 2687Ws, a 2TB SSD RAID 0 array and a 24TB RAID 10 array with 3 HOF 780s and 64GB of RAM because why not.

Shoot! Did I just waste my money on the other one!??

Sure did, now go out there and buy 3 4K monitors and experience the glory of Pong at 11,520×2,160 at a whopping 11FPS!@@!

Power supply is a bit dodgy and maybe, if you're Crossfiring cards, you need a good good PSU with a lot of output. The most a 7870 will draw is around 300W(that's in benchmarks that push the GPU to it's absolute limit), with around 250W at full load in normal applications.

The PSU could handle it but I'd rather try with something like a 750W PSU or better.

Yes, you will see a performance increase. 7870 CrossFire Benchmarks In something like Skyrim, not so much. Scaling for the second/third card in Skyrim is absolutely terrible, less than 30%.

    Things to drop:

    The case.
    The aftermarket HSF
8GB of RAM in favor of 4
The GPU because a HD 7750 is better and cheaper GT 640 vs HD 7750 Benchmarks
A PSU that isn't complete, overpriced shit(but I wouldn't blame Corsair, it's kind of their thing)
Lose the Optical Drive unless you really need it, you can boot from USB

You end up with something that looks like >>this<<
