late reply but yes, if feels like their just providing fan service (since stolitz is really popular and so is fizz and asmodeous both as a ship and characters) and not the actual story!! It's kind of going down the miraculous route i'm afraid, really good premise, ideas and potentially good characters but it's not being carried by the right writing and doesn't let the right characters shine when they should because "the mc" is what we have to focus on ofc!

(specifically Millie which ik has been said a lot but I feel like she should be playing a much bigger role in the story then she is, and the "Helluva 4 boys, Hazbin 4 girls!!! <333" isn't even working bc from what I can see Hazbin let its two female leads ROT with horrible characters and no development . And it's mostly focused on Angeldust, Alistar and the like)

honestly!!!! as someone who enjoyed the pilot those years back it’s disappointing to see the direction it went ? even if i wasn’t really invested anymore? it just sucks cause i do think it could’ve been something interesting, but the plot took such an out of direction turn from what the pilot showed … really wish they focused more on fun character interactions and hotel hijinks rather than a super serious plot right out of the gate. and DUUUDE they did the characters dirty too which is Really Weird considering you know who probably had more of an influence this time around. like how do you butcher your own ocs ??? but ah well
the vibes of the pilot were not there . characters felt off , writing was no good , and stuff felt so FORCED !! it really made it so hard to care what was happening to anybody lmao

no like actually i didnt watch it fully but from the clips ive seen, as someone who got into it from the pilot and waited 4 years for the release, i feel like the characters are a lot different and just the whole direction seems different than what we were promised 😭 might still pirate it/watch reaction videos to see how the story goes since ive been waiting so long though

even separating the art from the artist and the bad parts of the show it seems pretty different in general to how it was before it became a show so i probably wouldnt enjoy it like i loved the pilot yk

ughhh i totally agree with you.. it feels like a terribly misued opportunity to me </3 its sad to see how bad helluva boss has been going down too, i really miss the lighthearted earlier episodes!! they really threw it all away for an exhausted romance plot between blitzo and stolas and have started giving asmodeous and fizz a lot of screen time too . for some reason ? it just really went off the walls
