For me, a clear water pack works best when it stays close to the vanilla look. The main thing I want is being able to see underwater terrain, ores, and structures more easily without the water looking completely unnatural.
I also appreciate when details like water color transitions between biomes are preserved. A lot of the appeal here is improving visibility while still feeling like Minecraft, rather than turning the water into invisible glass.
