Survival w/ chest/door/sign protection
You can protect your land with factions (polygonal) or an admin or smod can with world guard (cubiod). We are pvp but we can have your faction set to peaceful (and give you a permanent power boost) if you protect with factions or flag it pvp deny if you want to go with world guard. Making your faction peaceful would mean no pvp for your faction members(except in the warzone arenas)and flaging pvp deny would only apply to your region.
We try not to ignore any players with questions or issues, it does happen on occasion if we are really busy on something. you can /m playername if you need to make your question stand out. we also have /mail to send offline players messages to be read when they come online.
Our economy is set up quite well. /jobs to earn money passively, trade signs to sell buy or barter, treasure hunts to aquire water source blocks and such. People make money off the treasure hunts and one is automatically done every hour XD We have decided not to have a server shop as people end up abusing it and it's not really necessary anyway. You can have a shop near the spawn with the other shops /warp shops and if you save your cash you can buy an npc to give your shop a human feel.
We have the ability to roll back any griefing if it should happen to you or you should come across some. /hk tool with a log to check who placed/destroyed things.
The admins have world edit so on occation when they aren't busy they can help you clear land or terraform or move buildings/chests.
We don't require you to be on every day, no one is on our server, and no one is gunna tell you your building is ugly. It just doesn't happen XD
We have players from over a year ago still on. Lots of our regulars have been with us for over 6 months. We have a dedicated box with 20 Gb of ram dedicated to minecraft.

Edit: our map is newish a few weeks old it was generated for 1.1. You can find a spot that isn't taken easily on dynmap, it's got a high res surface map in the controls on the right. If we ever have to reset the map we will run the worlds along side eachother and copy over buildings that people want using world edit.
