Ashley could instantly tell that she had broken her leg, seeing as most of the pain was coming from there, and, her leg was bent in an awkward way. She started screaming, out of pain, and, out of fright. She was almost as frightened as she could be. She could hear noises coming from other parts of the cave, and she was alone. All she had for defense was a bow, and 17 arrows.
She thought to herself, "I have to act quickly. I have to try to get up. My leg might not be broken." So she took a nearby stick and crawled over to the wall where she could get some grip. As she pulled herself up, she felt a jolt of pain go through her whole leg. She winced a little, but kept getting up.
When she had finally gotten up, she realized that she had left her bow over at the spot which she had fallen. She took her first step, screamed, fell over, and started to cry harder than she ever had before. Her leg was indeed broken.

After a few minutes of crying, Ashley realized that she had to venture outside. If all was well, she would be able to find the food she needed to survive. If not, she would have to hunt for food.
"But what about my mother?" she asked herself. This time, she would have to take a chance. She left her mother, and went outside.
What she saw outside displeased her very much. All that she saw was a huge puddle, trees that had fallen, and grass. "So here is where my bow training comes into play," she said regretfully. She took out her bow, and grabbed some arrows from inside. After that, she ran off into the distance. She had left her mother, and gone out on an adventure. But she didn't get far. After taking 30 or so strides, Ashley had tripped, rolled down a hill, and fell into an above-ground cave. She fell about 30 feet before hitting solid rock. Then you heard a loud thunk, and a scream. 40 feet from her house, Ashley had fallen 30 feet and broke her leg.

Ashley was up all night, listening to the rain, and jumping at the crash of the lighting. But she eventually heard the rain die down. "Good," she thought. "Now i can get some sleep." And as she lied down in her comfortable bed, she thought of a few things. What if her mother dies while she is sleeping? What if a tree suddenly falls on the house? The thoughts were racing through her mind, and she was scared. She started to panic. Of all the horrible disasters that had happened already, she was thinking of much, much greater ones. She was confused, tired, scared, and lonely. This brave girl could take these thoughts no more. The emotion was greater. She put her hands on her face, sniffled a few times, and began to cry.

Ashley was able to sleep through most things, but this storm was unbearable. She had woken up in the middle of the night due to the thunderous crashes, and, while her mother was still asleep, she went to check on the crops. All of them were gone; blown away by the winds.
Suddenly, she heard a huge crack, some creaking, and then a loud smash. The tree that her grandmother had planted finally collapsed. All hope of keeping her mother safe was lost.

RE-BACKSTORY: Ashley Chase was 7 when her father went away to explore the New World, and yet, he hasn't come back yet. She is mostly at home with her mother, keeping her company. She loves to explore, build, and farm. She is not afraid to fight anything, nor is she scared to do something new. When her father does come back, he will see how much she has changed. Now a girl who is training in archery for the kingdom's defence, she tries her hardest to get better, and she does. But sometimes the pressure of all the work she has to do catches up with her. Learning how to shoot a bow decently takes time, and Ashley is patient. Caring for her mother is not an easy task, since she recently got terribly sick. She sometimes thinks that she won't live another day. Kind as she may be, she can also be very serious. But she will do anything to help her mother, and the kingdom.
Appearance: A normal 16 year old girl.

Now a girl in high school, she tries to make time to hang out with her friends, but sometime the work catches up with her. Farming takes time, and Ashley is patient.
