When you flip the question around it's obvious what the answer is if it wasn't already.
Let's say I was an immoral person who's goal was to be immoral as possible. To be as immoral as possible, I would want to cause the most people to die and the most families and friends to suffer - so I would let the trolley continue on the main track. Diverting it may give me a rush, but I would like to orphan more than one child as I cackle maniacally on the sidelines. I have already gone through the trouble of tying down 6 conscious people, it would be a shame if 5 of their squishy deaths went to waste.
Now that we've seen the inverse situation is clear that to be more moral you would divert the trolley to cause the least deaths.
(The main reason one might pick option 1 is because they don't understand that killing someone and not not killing someone is the same thing when you are in control of the situation)
