I also love this game, it does indeed wake your creativity, and can be very enjoyable to play when teaming up with the right people!
Personally, I love Vanilla servers, where I come face to face with the games purest form without any modifications. I also love developing for this game. In terms of tips and tricks, Im sure you will find hundreds of them in the forums, give it a search!
Very interesting. I like the way you made it a simple and 'doodely' style. Looks awesome. You use alot of curved lines. I reccommend you using Adobe Flash CC and up to make your art. Lots of Line tools there.
Try shading in with darker colours than just black lines.
Yeah, sorry. My dad got it for me. I think that indeed he did get it for the price you mentioned. I just searched up the model and clicked the first link. The price was 1400$. Maybe I checked the very first price of the product. Now it is definitely cheaper.

If you still have problems, try cooling down your machine. How many hours a day is it on?

You haven't played Minecraftfor 2 years... 2 years ago I had about 300fps, today I have just over 100. Minecraft requirements became much higher since around version 1.6 due to updates in world generators, entity shadows etc.
Try launching a Minecraft Version from the past 2 years and you will see the difference. On older versions you will have higher fps.
