trying to be a helpful person for once yAY
it really depends on what type of skins i guess? if you want to do realism or animals, try finding a well known skin maker in that area and DM them for tips
if you're a basic girl like me, my advice would be colors. work on colors. colors can make or break a skin in my own
trashy opinion. hue shift, add visible contrast but not wayyy too much
(example of a lil too much) unless you're really into it, because that's important. this is something i struggle with - making what
I want to make. i'm kind of a people pleaser? if someone is like "u make unoriginal garbage" i get upset and try to pander to them but i shouldn't honestly. make whatever you like. if you make something and are halfway proud with it, post it and ask "hey what's missing" and maybe tips can get you to improve it until you're confident. if you want color/shading advice, there are a lot of blogs on PMC that can help with those areas, tbh i'm not a good teacher so
yeah
hope this terrible chunk of text helps in some way idk
