Yes, but I was simply pointing out the error with your example. You could have chosen something else to represent what you meant. Still, if life is accidental, then there really is no meaning to life. Without meaning what value can there be? I'm sorry, I've just never understood things of this nature. For instance, gold is valuable, because it's rare. Is there any other reason? No, it's just one of the most exceedingly rare substances on the planet, and a lot of people like the way it looks.
So, if life has no meaning, why is it valuable? The question of this thread is a question with no answer. That question is "Why?" No-one knows the answer, no-one can know the answer. Life is what we make it out to be, and that's all there is to it.
Life is valuable because it's OUR thing. It's the ultimate opportunity, and it's a one-shot deal. Life is valuable because without it we would never have the opportunity to even be discussing what's so great about it because we wouldn't exist. Nothing would except elements, and compounds. Obviously we can't go around appreciating every single little aspect of life because that's just excessive, but giving new generations the opportunity to have that life of theirs is a good enough reason itself to appreciate life. That's what animals have going for them as they eat each other, but point is we don't need a special purpose to realize how fucking lucky we are to be alive, especially at this very moment where life is becoming easier to enjoy as well. (Easier in some ways, suckier in others) That in and of itself should be enough to go through life, but lately most peoples morailites has been altered in such a way that they always need something better than what they have. Which is the reason apple products are so excessively popular. They pretend to be the best of the best with futuristic looking pieces of crap, and a big price tag.
It's also the reason that you feel the need to ask what the purpose of life is. It's not good enough for you.
To sum it all up life is worth living and respecting because it's the best we've got going for ourselves. Sorry you can't have your special purpose in the world, you'll just have to make one up based on what others might want or need from you. (Again, nothings perfect, but it's pretty damn good.)
